Stale Bread Pie

I am one of those housewives who try not to throw anything away. Stale bread can be used to make a delicious pie with cheese, eggplant, and slices. Of course, you can improvise with the filling!

Cook: 1 hour

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Stale bread – 200-250 g
  • Mozzarella cheese – 125 g
  • Sausage (sausages) – 200 g
  • Eggplant – 1 pc.
  • Milk – 150-200 ml
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Salt
  • Spices (favorite)

The amount of bread and other ingredients is approximate! You can increase and decrease. You can use different vegetables, leftover sausages.

Directions

  1. Finely chop stale bread. Combine milk and egg in a bowl, add salt and spices. Stir well. Pour milk over the bread and let it stand and soften.
  2. Cut the cheese and sausages. Pierce the eggplant in several places and cook in the microwave (10 minutes), then peel and chop. Mix everything well.
  3. Grease a refractory mold with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Spread out the bread mass and distribute evenly. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 30-40 minutes.
