Stewed Cabbage with Buckwheat

Ingredients

  • White cabbage – 500 g
  • Buckwheat – 1.5 cups
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Onions – 1-2 pcs.
  • Tomato paste – 1-2 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) – 4 tbsp
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Salt to taste

How to cook stewed cabbage with buckwheat:

Directions

  1. Peel, wash onions, and carrots. Dice the onion. Grate carrots on a coarse grater.
  2. Cut the cabbage into thin strips.
  3. Preheat a frying pan, pour in vegetable oil. Put onions and carrots in hot oil. Simmer, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add cabbage.
  5. Mix everything. Simmer, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the tomato. Stir and remove from heat.
  7. Put buckwheat and vegetables in a cauldron. Salt and pepper, you can add your favorite spices.
  8. Stir, pour boiling water over. (the level of boiling water should be 4-5 cm higher than the products). Put the cauldron on the fire, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to the lowest.
  9. Cook stewed cabbage with buckwheat, covered for about 30 minutes.
  10. Stewed cabbage with buckwheat is ready!
