Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 150 ml water
  • 150 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 75 grams sugar
  • 60 g butter
  • 8 g salt
  • 10 g applesauce
  • 21 g yeast, fresh OR
  • 1 pack dry yeast

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water and add the salt.
  2. Set the glass aside for a good 30 minutes.
  3. Then put all the remaining ingredients in a bowl, add the yeast, salt and water and mix everything together very well.
  4. (You should knead the dough vigorously for at least 5 minutes, 7-10 minutes are best)
  5. Now cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for at least 60 minutes. (The dough becomes relatively liquid, which is normal, it is very sticky, but that`s how it should be)
  6. After resting, knead the dough as well as possible.
  7. Now put the dough in a loaf pan or special toast bread pan and cover again for a good 45 minutes.
  8. After rising, put the form in the preheated oven and bake at 220 ° C top / bottom heat.
  9. After a good 5 minutes, switch down to 180 ° C and bake for another 40 minutes.
  10. The applesauce gives the bread a special crumb and does not get too dry.
  11. But if you don`t want to open a glass, you can leave out the applesauce.
  12. The sweet sandwich bread is very fluffy and particularly tasty
