Ingredients

  • 500 g Swiss chard
  • 125 g ham, diced
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 500 ml vegetable stock, (instant)
  • 200 g cream
  • pepper
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean the chard, cut the stalks into small cubes, coarsely chop the chard greens. Peel the garlic clove and cut into small pieces.
  2. Leave the ham cubes in the hot oil, add the chard stalks and cook everything together for 5-10 minutes. Also add the garlic and cook with it.
  3. Add the chard greens and let them collapse. Steam again for 5 minutes. Deglaze everything with the vegetable stock and cream, season with salt and pepper and simmer well for another 10 minutes.
  4. Puree everything thoroughly and bring to the boil again. Season if necessary.
  5. As a pre-soup, the recipe is sufficient for 4 people, as a main course I would make double the amount for 4 people.
