Wafer Rolls in a Frying Pan

If you have a desire to make delicate and crunchy waffles or wafer rolls but did not have a waffle iron on hand, this problem is very easy to solve. Exactly the same products in taste and structure can be obtained in a regular frying pan. And it will take very little time to cook waffles in a pan.

Ingredients

  • Flour – 200 g
  • Butter – 100 g
  • Milk – 100 ml
  • Eggs – 3 pcs.
  • Sugar – 150 g
  • Vanillin or vanilla sugar – optional
  • Salt – a small pinch

Directions

  1. Combine eggs and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Mix everything well with a mixer until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Melt the butter until it is liquid. It is convenient to do this in the microwave. Pour milk and melted (but not too hot) butter into the egg mixture.
  4. Add a small pinch of salt and vanillin and mix everything well again.
  5. Now add flour and stir the dough until smooth.
  6. The dough should not be too runny. The consistency is the same as for ordinary waffles. It should not spread over the pan but should spread well with a spoon.
  7. A heavy-bottomed pan is best for making waffles. There is no need to lubricate the pan since the waffles do not burn, but without oil, they will dry better. Pour about 2 tablespoons of dough into a preheated frying pan and distribute evenly over the surface with the thinnest possible layer. If the dough is too thick, the waffles may not be so crispy.
  8. After 2-3 minutes, when one side of the waffles is well browned, turn over and fry it for about a minute on the other side (also until golden brown). Waffles need to be fried (dried) over low heat, as pancakes can be obtained with high heat.
  9. After removing the hot waffle from the pan, we immediately twist it into a tube, since the cooled product becomes quite fragile. Ready waffles can be filled with filling, for example, cream or boiled condensed milk. But even without filling, such waffles are very tasty. To maintain a crispy texture, do not store wafers in closed containers.
