Ingredients

  • 200 g honey
  • 125 g mararine
  • 250 ml milk
  • 250 grams sugar
  • 400 g flour
  • 250 g dried fruits and nuts, chopped e.. B dates, fis, raisins, almonds, walnuts
  • 2 medium egg (s)
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 1 pack gingerbread spice
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped baking soda
  • some fat, for the pan, or baking paper

Instructions

  1. Heat honey, margarine, milk and sugar in a saucepan, stirring continuously until all ingredients have dissolved.
  2. Sift the flour into a bowl. Pour the warm mass over it and stir quickly so that no lumps form. If lumps have formed, simply beat through vigorously with the whisk.
  3. Let the mixture cool, then add the eggs, spices, cocoa, nuts, dried fruits and baking soda and stir well. Fill into a greased loaf pan or lined with baking paper and bake at approx. 180 ° for 50 minutes.
  4. The cake can be enjoyed for dessert or with butter for breakfast. Decorated with a bow, it also makes a nice Advent present.
  5. The baking time depends on the size of the pan, this relates to a 25 cm loaf pan.
