Rub the slices of toast with garlic or generously sprinkle with garlic powder. Quarter the toast. Dice the onion. Heat the oil. Put the onion pieces in the oil and fry briefly. Fry the pieces of toast in the hot oil on both sides until they are nice and crispy. Season well with salt and pepper. Possibly Season with garlic powder.
Note: I like the garlic toasts best when they have turned really dark. Goes well with salads or as a snack between meals.
