  1. Heat the oven to around 190 ° C. Put the butter, sugar and syrup in a large bowl and stir until creamy. Now mix in the eggs and vanilla sugar, mix for three minutes.
  2. Now mix the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt together and pour this into the large bowl to mix. From now on you no longer work with the mixer, but use a sturdy spoon because the dough is very firm.
  3. Finally, the roughly chopped chocolate is added and the dough is worked through again. Instead of 300 g dark chocolate, you can also replace 150 g with white chocolate. There are no limits to creativity: Smarties, caramelized nuts, nougat pieces - you can knead almost anything under the dough!
  4. Line two trays with baking paper and form 16 rather large balls of dough with your hand, which you press flat onto the tray. The dia should be about six centimeters, so about three to four cookies fit in a row. The dough patties should not touch, there must be a small gap. But don`t worry, the cookies keep their size and don`t run apart in the oven.
  5. Bake time 10-13 minutes. When the cookies are done, they are still quite soft. Let them cool completely on the tray and then pack them airtight so that you can still enjoy the delicious aroma for a few days. The chocolate particles are also very suitable as gifts.
