Instructions

  1. Clean or peel the bell pepper and onion and then dice. Also cut the meat into bite-sized pieces. Peel and chop the garlic.
  2. Fry the diced paprika and onion with the garlic for a few minutes in heated olive oil, then deglaze with the stock. Add tomatoes, chickpeas, chili powder and five-spice powder. Simmer for five minutes in a closed saucepan.
  3. In the meantime, fry the meat in a pan and season with salt and pepper. When the meat is done, take the soup off the stove and add the meat. Season to taste with sugar, salt and pepper and possibly a little more chili powder and five-spice powder. Serve hot.
  4. Flatbread or freshly baked ciabatta go well with this.
