Instructions

  1. Mix the butter or margarine with the sugar and vanilla sugar until frothy. Gradually add 6 eggs and stir a little longer. The mass should be nice and creamy. Mix the flour with the orange cake, add in portions and stir in. There is no baking powder in the batter!
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This recipe is ideal for the convection oven, so that 2 or 3 trays can be baked at the same time. Now use a piping bag to spray the dough in approx. 4 - 5 cm long strips or dots onto the tray (s). Caution: leave space, because the cookies run apart in the oven!
  3. Bake for 10 - 15 minutes at 170 ° C (top / bottom heat, hot air: 150 ° C). If you are not using hot air, place the tray in the middle of the oven. After baking, place on a wire rack while it is still hot.
  4. If you like, you can glaze the cookies. But they also taste very good without topping. For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with the orange juice. Add the juice tablespoon at a time until you have the desired consistency.
  5. With us, a thin frosting is more popular, so I always take a little more orange juice. Put the glaze on the hot cookies and let dry. Store in cookie jars or plastic jars.
