Instructions
- Halve each date lengthwise without cutting completely through, leaving the halves slightly attached. Remove the pit from the center.
- Toast the chopped almonds in a pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant. Set aside to cool.
- In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, orange juice, orange zest, and amaretto until smooth and well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Pipe a generous amount of filling into the cavity of each date.
- Refrigerate the filled dates for at least 30 minutes until the filling is firm.
- Just before serving, sprinkle the toasted almonds over the dates.
