Preheat the oven to 165 degrees top / bottom heat.
Place the ham in a roaster with the cut side down. Press the cloves into the ham at intervals of approx. 5 cm up to the heads, attach the pineapple rings to the ham with toothpicks and, if necessary, put a cherry in the middle of the pineapple ring with another toothpick. Bake the ham in the oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
While the ham is in the oven, put the pineapple juice with the brown sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil, then simmer until the juice thickens a little. Pour half of the thickened juice over the ham after about 50 minutes of baking, the remaining half about 30 minutes before the end of baking. Take the ham out of the oven and let it rest for a while, then serve with the sauce.
This goes well with mashed potatoes and green beans (possibly coated with bacon).
