Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 ° C (top / bottom heat). Mix the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Then work the vegetable fat and butter into the flour mixture with two knives until a coarse, crumbly mass is formed.
  2. Pour in the milk and mix the dough with your fingertips until the dough can be shaped into a ball. Knead the dough ball 12-15 times on a floured work surface.
  3. Then roll out to a thickness of 2 cm and cut out rolls 5 cm in diameter with a form or a glass. Knead the dough sections again and cut out more rolls.
  4. Place the rolls on an ungreased and uncoated baking sheet so that they touch. Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake the rolls for 10-12 minutes until they are golden yellow.
  5. Serve hot. Sliced fresh from the oven, they are thickly coated with butter and strawberry jam.
  6. Note: This recipe makes soft, white biscuits because the rolls are touching. For crispy rolls, place them on the baking sheet at a distance of 2 - 3 cm.
