Beat the eggs with the sugar until airy (the mixture will NOT be thick and white because there is not enough sugar in it). Mix the flour, baking powder and salt and add to the eggs alternately with the milk and oil. Add the vanilla extract and bake the waffles in portions.
The mass is very fluid; I always use a Brussels waffle iron and pour in the batter with a ladle. The waffles should be baked properly so that they don`t become limp.
These waffles are mainly served for breakfast in the USA and are deliberately NOT sweet! So you can top it with really sweet toppings, syrup, sweet cream, crumble, etc.
Pure they taste a bit like bread. I like that so much, but mainly they are there to be garnished with sweetness!
If there are any left over, simply bake them again in the toaster and it will taste like freshly baked!
