Finely slice 2 cloves of garlic. Pour olive oil into the pan and sweat the garlic until golden. Then remove and drain on kitchen paper.
Divide the lettuce hearts lengthways. Clean under running water. Place the hearts in the garlic oil with the cut surface facing down and fry them. Turn once and fry the other side.
Arrange the lettuce hearts on a plate with the cut surface facing up. Salt and pepper these. Pour approx. 1 - 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 - 3 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar over it. Divide the tomatoes and arrange on top.
