Instructions

  1. Beat the egg yolks with the butter until frothy, add about half of the sugar and stir for another 2 minutes. Beat the egg whites with the rest of the sugar until stiff.
  2. Stir the cream into the egg cream, sieve the flour into the cream and carefully fold in the stiffly beaten egg white. If you like, you can add two tablespoons of rum or orange juice.
  3. Heat the waffle iron, brush with oil and bake until golden brown. Brush with oil every third or fourth waffle to prevent it from sticking. Serve immediately after baking.
  4. Serving suggestions: powdered sugar, whipped cream, compote, ice cream or fresh fruit
