Mix the oil, onions and garlic well, leave to stand in a small pot for an hour and then place on the table.
Lightly toast the bread slices and place them in a basket on the table.
While you are waiting for the first course, spread the onion and garlic oil on bread, season with a little salt and pepper and let it taste good. It also tastes very good as a small, simple starter in front of a grill plate!
