Instructions

  1. Dice the rolls and mix with flour. Whisk milk with sugar and eggs and pour over. Stir everything and let the bread soak up the liquid.
  2. Heat vegetable fat or lard in a tall saucepan.
  3. Form dumplings with 2 tablespoons, similar to semolina dumplings, roll in the crumbs and fry until golden brown in the hot fat.
  4. Sprinkle the dumplings with cinnamon and sugar and serve with compote or vanilla sauce.
  5. There is also the variant with a shot, in which the cams are doused with mulled wine.
