Grease a baking pan (20x30cm) with a little butter.
Sift the flour into a bowl. Add oatmeal, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla sugar and salt and mix well.
Put butter, sugar and sugar beet syrup in a bowl and beat until frothy. Add egg and applesauce and stir well. Add flour mixture and raisins and work everything into a dough.
Spread the batter evenly in the cake tin and bake for about 15-20 minutes.
