Measure out the apple juice and apricot liqueur and place in a large saucepan. Slit open the vanilla pod and add it to the saucepan. Add the preserving sugar, stir well and bring to the boil while stirring. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Then pour it into jars while it is still hot, close immediately and put on the lid for a few minutes. Then turn it around again and preferably let it cool down overnight.
