Instructions

  1. Preparation of the approach:
  2. Wash the apples, cut in half, remove the core and cut into pieces. Put the apple pieces and spices in a container and pour the schnapps over them. Close the container tightly and store in a warm place. The batch can be filtered off after 4-5 weeks.
  3. To refine the taste:
  4. If the approach is too strong in alcohol content: extend with water. If the approach is too sweet: extend it with water and / or grain. If the approach is too sour: Boil a sugar solution (made of water and sugar) and add to the liquor mixture as desired. If the mixture is not very aromatic: prepare new apples, add them to the mixture and let it steep for a few more weeks.
  5. Bottling:
  6. Fill the ready-mixed liqueur into bottles and let it mature for another 3 months.
  7. Tips and hints:
  8. Do not peel the apples during preparation. The apple peels give the taste! There is no one size fits all recipe for apple liqueurs. Each approach tastes different as each apple reacts differently. A dash of calvados can be added to the liqueur when tasting and refining it to round off the taste.
  9. Fully ripe, sweet apples are just as suitable as tart varieties for this apple liqueur. Just try it out according to your personal taste!
