Instructions

  1. First, for the Apple Pie Muffins, knead the flour, sugar, salt, an egg and butter together to form a nice dough. Roll out thinly on a floured surface. Now butter and flour a muffin tin.
  2. Now cut out 12 circles from the dough that are approx. 1 - 2 cm larger than the top diameter of your muffin pan. Put the rest of the dough aside, it can then be used for decoration. Now press the circles into the hollows so that small bowls are created.
  3. Peel and core the apples and cut into small cubes. Mix with sugar, cinnamon, flour and butter. Now use a spoon to pour the apple mixture into the hollows. You can be a bit fuller at the same time.
  4. Roll out the remaining dough again and either cut out decorations or cut into strips with a pastry wheel. Place on top of the apple mass.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° C for approx. 15-20 minutes. The batter of the Apple Pie Muffins should be golden brown and the apple mixture should still be slightly puffy.
  6. It is best to let the Apple Pie Muffins cool down in the pan, the dough will then be nice and crispy and the muffins can be easily lifted out with a spoon. If the muffins are still too hot, they will break when you lift them out.
