Instructions

  1. Peel the pumpkin, cut into cubes and soak in vinegar water overnight (so that the pumpkin pieces are covered). Strain and pour away the brew.
  2. Again just as much water and vinegar, as well as the spices, as well as the diced apple pieces and the lemon wedges, cook for about 25 minutes until they are firm to the bite. Fish out the cinnamon bark, lemon and spices.
  3. Fill the compote into 3 preserving jars while still hot and close tightly. Tastes lukewarm best and goes particularly well with meat.
