Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add water and oil and let cool. Put the flour in a bowl, add the butter mixture, a pinch of salt and 1-2 tablespoons of sugar. Mix the mixture and beat the dough well for a few minutes.
  2. Dust a tea towel with flour. Take the dough out of the bowl and divide 5 - 6 equal pieces. Shape the individual pieces into balls and place on the tea towel. Cover and let rest for about 10 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, clean the apples, remove the core and cut into slices or cubes.
  4. Then roll out a portion of the dough each time and brush with approx. 3 tablespoons of cream. Spread the apples and possibly raisins on top, sprinkle with approx. 2 handfuls of sugar and cinnamon. Roll up the dough. Grease a casserole dish well, place the rolls in the casserole dish.
  5. Preheat the stove to 200 degrees, put the baking dish in the oven. Baking time: approx. 45 - 60 minutes.
  6. Mix the milk with about 50 g sugar and after about half an hour, when the dough has turned brown, pour over the strudel.
  7. If a strudel no longer fits into the mold, heat the fat in a pan and bake the strudel for about half an hour, turning several times!
