Mix the quark well with the oil, milk, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir half of it through a sieve to the base mixture. Then knead in the rest of the flour with your hands. Roll out the dough thinly and cut out round plates (approx. 10 cm in diameter). Brush half of each sheet of dough with 1 teaspoon of applesauce. Brush the edge of the plates with a little milk and fold the plate halves together. Press the edges of the pockets together with a fork and place them on a greased baking sheet (also works with baking paper).
Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Bake the apple turnovers for about 15 minutes.
Sift the powdered sugar into a bowl and stir with hot water until smooth. Brush the apple turnovers with it immediately after baking. As soon as the frosting is set, the apple turnovers are ready to eat.
