Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and spread butter on a flat baking dish.
Wash, halve and core the apricots. Place them next to each other in the baking dish with the cut surface facing up. Sprinkle with the sugar and spread the butter cut into small cubes on top. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes. The apricots should be soft but keep their shape.
Take out and let cool down briefly. Serve warm on a dessert plate together with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
