The onions are halved and sliced. Don`t hack. Fry in approx. 2 - 3 tablespoons of oil. They must be seared brown to dark brown. Then add the lentils and the water. Cover and cook on a medium heat for about 1 hour. See if they`re done, otherwise cook longer.
Then season and add the bulgur and let it steep for about 10-15 minutes on the lowest setting. In the end it shouldn`t look muddy, then it`s the right thing to do.
This goes well with yogurt or salad as a side dish.

The glass with which the lenses are measured has a capacity of 110 ml.
