Instructions

  1. To make sushi you also need a makisu (bamboo mat).
  2. First, the sushi rice is washed thoroughly until the water runs clear. Then it is boiled in cold water on medium heat for 15 minutes.
  3. In the meantime you can mix the rice vinegar with sugar and salt and warm it up. When the rice has finished cooking, add the vinegar, stir, cover with a cotton cloth and let it steep for 10 minutes.
  4. Then wrap the bamboo mat with cling film and cut a nori sheet in half.
  5. Halve an avocado, remove the skin and cut into slightly thicker slices.
  6. Now distribute the cooled rice on the nori sheet, leaving 1 cm free at the top and moisten this strip with water. Place the avocado in the middle and roll everything carefully with a little pressure. Finally, cut the roll into bite-sized pieces.
  7. Serve with wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce.
