Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni al dente and pour into a sieve.
  2. Now leave out the margarine in the pot of the noodles. Peel the onion and clean the green pepper. Finely dice and sauté in the margarine. Add the macaroni and mix with the diced pepper. Finely grate the cheddar cheese and mix approx. 150 g of it with the macaroni. Melt at low temperature while stirring. Now stir in the ketchup and mustard into the macaroni. Season with a few drops of hot pepper sauce and a little salt. (If you don`t have hot pepper sauce in the house, you can also use white pepper). Cut the cooked ham into cubes and mix with the macaroni.
  3. Preheat the oven to 175 ° C.
  4. Pour the Bajan Maccaroni Pie into a baking dish. Mix the remaining cheddar cheese with breadcrumbs and sprinkle over the casserole. Bake on the middle rack for about 15 minutes until the casserole is golden brown. Serve immediately.
