Instructions

  1. Clean and wash the cauliflower, cut into florets and cook in plenty of salted water for 15 minutes.
  2. Peel the onion and cut into fine cubes. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion and minced meat in it, season with salt and pepper from the mill.
  3. Arrange the cauliflower and minced meat in a baking dish. Heat the fat in a saucepan. Add flour and sweat. Deglaze with the milk and bring to the boil. (If you prefer a little more sauce, you can add more milk. But be careful! The cauliflower draws a lot of water when it is cooked, which it then loses when it is gratinated.) Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir part of the grated cheese into the sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce over the mince and cauliflower and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake in the preheated oven at 225 °, gas mark 4, for 10-15 minutes.
  5. I always make boiled potatoes with it.
