Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 ° (top and bottom heat).
  2. If it is chicken drumsticks, the drumsticks are divided in the joint. Then season the chicken parts vigorously with pepper and salt and rub in and place them next to each other on a baking tray.
  3. Put the honey with the ketchup, soy sauce and chilli sauce in a saucepan and mix. Then bring to the boil briefly.
  4. Now the chicken pieces are brushed with the sauce.
  5. Peel the potatoes (this may not be necessary for new potatoes with a tender skin) and cut into wedges (eighths).
  6. Finely chop the garlic cloves.
  7. Peel the onions and cut them into large pieces (roughly like the potatoes).
  8. Pluck the bunch of thyme and mix with the rosemary needles. Keep some thyme for the tomatoes.
  9. Now mix the potatoes, garlic and onions with the spice mixture and season with salt and pepper. At the end add the oil and mix in so that everything is well coated with oil.
  10. Now spread this mixture around the meat on the tray.
  11. Put the tray in the middle of the oven and fry for 1 1/2 hours. If necessary, add some chicken stock.
  12. Score the tomatoes crosswise and place on the tray after 40 minutes. When the cooking time is over, the tomatoes are garnished with the fresh thyme that was retained.
