For this Bavarian herb, half a head of white cabbage is cut into fine strips.
Heat the clarified butter in a casserole and fry the ham cubes in it. Now add the white cabbage strips and stew briefly. Sweeten with a little liquid sweetener, then pour in the vegetable stock and add the white wine vinegar. Now sprinkle the caraway seeds over the Bavarian cabbage and put a lid on. Braise for about 20 minutes at a medium temperature. When the herb is through, remove the lid and continue to simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes until the liquid has evaporated. Don`t forget to stir. Season to taste with a little salt.
We serve either a smoked pork roast or pork roast.
