Instructions

  1. Cut off the ends of the green beans and briefly wash them under cold water. Bring the salt water to the boil. Add the beans (they should be covered with water) and cook for about 15-20 minutes until they are firm to taste. Put on a sieve and rinse with cold water. Cut the beans about the length of a small finger.
  2. Cut the bacon or ham into strips about 2.5 to 3 fingers wide. If necessary, divide the strips in the middle. They shouldn`t be too long. Place 3 to 4 beans at the beginning of the bacon strip and roll it up. Possibly fix with toothpicks.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the rolls well on each side. Deglaze with a dash of white wine, remove the beans. Pour the cream into the pan, heat it up, reduce it a little and season with salt, pepper, nutmeg and bay leaves. Serve with the beans.
  4. Very nice as an accompaniment to pasta pans or potato dishes.
  5. It is also suitable as finger food without sauce, since it is bite-sized pieces and not so big chunks that are filled with too many beans.
