Instructions

  1. First you take the potatoes, wash them off and peel them. Then halve the potatoes and cut the halves into approx. 5 mm wide slices, so that crescents are formed. Now dust the potatoes with a little flour.
  2. Put a saucepan with oil on a stove or use your deep fryer, if you have one. Heat the oil or turn on the deep fryer.
  3. Now, when the fat is hot, gradually add a portion of the potatoes and fry them for about 2 - 3 minutes. When they are golden yellow and crispy, you can remove the potatoes and place them on kitchen paper to drain.
  4. When that`s done, add some salt to the Belgian potatoes and they`re ready to be served.
  5. Put the Belgian potatoes on the dining table to eat as quickly as possible, otherwise they can get mushy.
  6. They taste particularly good with a homemade mayonnaise or delicious ketchup. Belgian potatoes are good as a filling side dish or just plain.
