Instructions

  1. Wash and core the peppers and cut into very straight, even rings about 2 cm thick. Dice the rest of the pods that are left over and the onions.
  2. Heat a little oil, put the pepper rings in it. Slide a whole egg into each of the rings. Season with salt, paprika and pepper. Let the egg set over medium heat until well done. Fry the onions and diced pepper as well.
  3. Toast 4 slices of toast until golden brown and cut out a desired motif with a large cookie cutter. I like to take small hedgehogs, but any other motif is also possible. Hearts, stars, angels - depending on the occasion and the season.
  4. Place the paprika and egg nests on a plate, decorate nicely with the bread motifs and the fried vegetable cubes and sprinkle with fresh green herbs, finely sliced or frozen. Serve immediately.
  5. Also great for children because it looks cute. Many vitamins are retained because the pepper rings are not cooked through, but remain firm to the bite.
