Cut the onion into small cubes, as well as the garlic. Sauté the onion with the garlic in butter while quartering the tomatoes and finely grating the carrot. Now add the tomatoes and the grated carrot and reduce until the desired consistency is achieved. Now add about 3/4 of the cream cheese and season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.
Ribbon noodles with chicken fillet, for example, go well with this. The sauce also tastes purely vegetarian.
