Instructions

  1. Prepare the rice pudding first, as it takes the longest:
  2. Bring the milk with the vanilla sugar, salt and the cinnamon stick to the boil, then add the rice pudding and let it simmer for about 30 minutes on a low flame. Stir in the sugar 10 minutes before the rice pudding is ready.
  3. Meanwhile, continue with the waffle batter:
  4. Mix the soft margarine or butter with the sugar, vanilla sugar, honey, salt and eggs in a bowl with a hand mixer to a foamy mixture. Mix the flour with the baking powder and work in alternately with the milk and mineral water until a thick dough is formed and leave to swell for about 10 minutes.
  5. In the time when the dough is swelling, you can already prepare the cherries:
  6. Mix the sugar with the icing and stir in a saucepan with the morello cherries, then bring to the boil and then set aside.
  7. Stir the cream with the vanilla sugar and the whipped cream with a hand mixer until stiff and place in the refrigerator.
  8. Now preheat the waffle iron on the middle setting and rub both baking surfaces with oil or butter.
  9. Spread the dough in sufficient quantities on the lower baking surface, close the waffle iron and bake it brown. Will be about 9-10 waffles.
  10. Now sprinkle the finished waffles with rice pudding, cinnamon and sugar or garnish with the warm cherries and cream.
  11. You can also add both and garnish with cream, cinnamon and sugar.
