Mix the prepared currants (washed and without stalks, defrost frozen fruits beforehand) in a blender or puree with a hand blender. Then put them in a saucepan with the other ingredients and stir everything well. Bring the mixture to the boil while stirring and when it boils properly, let it boil for 3 - 5 minutes with the lid closed. Stir occasionally.
Pour the jam into jars, close immediately and turn upside down until they have cooled down.
Red currants, black currants, or a mixture of both can be used for this jam.
