Instructions

  1. Peel the onions, cut into small cubes and fry. Add a little salt. Add the diced bacon a little later and fry with it.
  2. In the meantime, heat the beans, but do not let them boil. When the onions and bacon are ready add to the beans. Now add 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. Serve hot.
  3. Note: The maple syrup really rounds off the whole thing - without it it tastes a bit bland, but try it yourself.
  4. Tips: For those who like it a little spicier, add 2 more chopped chili peppers, 2 crushed cloves of garlic and cayenne pepper.
