Instructions

  1. Soak the beans in water overnight. Then pour off the water and rinse the beans. Put back in the pot and fill up again with water. Let simmer for about 1 hour over a moderate heat. In the meantime, peel and chop the onion and garlic. Dice the bacon and leave it in a hot pan. Add onions and garlic and fry in them, then set aside. When the beans are ready, drain the water and place the beans in an ovenproof dish. Add the bacon with onions and garlic and now all the other ingredients (except the salt). Cover the pan and place in the oven. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for about ½ hour. Then remove the lid and cook for another 30 to 40 minutes. Add more water if needed. Finally, season again to taste and now also season with salt. Serve hot. Tastes very good with all pan-fried dishes and poultry.
