This recipe is probably known to many. My task is to remind you of it, because this dish is delicious, satisfying and will become an excellent basis for a family dinner. Here’s how to cook a chicken stew.
Peel the carrots and onions. Cut the chicken into pieces (shins, thighs, wings, and neck).
Grate the carrots on a coarse grater or cut them into strips.
Cut the onions into half rings or quarters if the bulbs are large.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown.
Transfer the chicken to a saucepan. Add salt and allspice. Cover with water. Simmer over low heat for 50 to 60 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74 °C (165 °F).
Add the onions and carrots. Cover and simmer for another 40 to 60 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
