Instructions

  1. A baking pan with a lid is also required, e.g., a loaf pan, a pot or roaster.
  2. Crumble the yeast in a mixing bowl and add the water. Stir until the yeast has completely dissolved. Add salt, sugar, syrup and vinegar and stir in. Add the flour and mix with a wooden spoon to form a dough. If the dough is still a bit runny and sticky, it is perfect. Add about 3/4 of the sunflower seeds and 3/4 of the sesame seeds to the batter and stir in. Cover the dough and let rise at room temperature for about 2 hours. The batter should have at least doubled by the end.
  3. Sprinkle a work surface with sufficient flour and pour the damp dough on it. Fold the dough in a few times on all sides, from the outside in. Do not work too much flour from the surface into the dough.
  4. Brush the desired baking pan with a little sunflower oil. Spread half of the remaining sunflower seeds on the bottom of the pan and pour the batter on top. Brush the dough from above with a little water and spread the remaining sunflower seeds and sesame seeds on top.
  5. Set the oven to 200 ° C top / bottom heat. Put the dough in the baking pan with the lid in the oven for 30 minutes. Then remove the lid and bake the bread for another 15 minutes or until the desired browning is achieved.
  6. Place the bread on chopsticks or on an upturned grid when it cools so that the bread does not get mushy from below.
