To soak the brioche bread, stir all the ingredients together and place the bread slices in it. It is best to poke many small holes in the bread with a fork so that they soak up nicely. Turn the slices after 1 - 2 minutes.
Heat the fat in a pan and bake the toasts on both sides over medium heat to the desired brown.
They taste best with powdered sugar and maple syrup, but also with jam, whipped cream, sour cream, cream cheese or ice cream.
