Instructions

  1. Stir the yeast with a little milk in a tall mug, add a little sugar and let it rise to steam for 10-15 minutes. Put the flour in a large bowl, knead with the rest of the milk, the rest of the sugar, butter, salt, egg yolks and the steam to a nice yeast dough (yeast dough), keep warm and let rise for approx. 45 minutes.
  2. Grease a wreath shape well, tear off 10 - 12 pieces from the dough, place 1 teaspoon of jam in the middle of each piece of dough and press the dough together around it. Turn the dough balls in melted butter and place them next to each other in the wreath form. Let rise for another 15 minutes.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes at 170 °. When cold, sprinkle with powdered sugar or sprinkle with lemon glaze.
  4. The Buchteln taste best fresh.
