Lightly oil an appropriately sized salad bowl and sprinkle it with garlic salt or rub it with a fresh clove of garlic beforehand.
Cut the tomatoes into slices, finely chop the pickled cucumbers and dice the onions. Add layers of tomatoes and pickled cucumbers mixed with onions and season each layer lightly with salt, sugar, pepper and vinegar. Pour the oil over it and sprinkle everything with finely chopped chives.
Let the salad stand for about 20 minutes and then serve. It goes perfectly with my Hexentanzplatz toast.
