Stir sugar and dry yeast into the milk and let stand for a few minutes. Put the flour with the butter, egg and salt in a bowl. Add the milk to the other ingredients and knead everything into a smooth dough. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise for about 1 hour in a not too cold place.
Then knead the dough vigorously and divide into 12 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball. Cover two baking trays with baking paper and place 6 balls on each tray. The balls are now pressed flat until round cakes approx. 1 cm thick are formed. Cover and let rise in a not too cold place for about 45 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 175 ° C (fan oven) for about 15 minutes, then leave to cool on a wire rack.
