Wash the limes thoroughly and cut them into eighths. Then place in the punch bowl and pound lightly with a wooden spoon or whisk. Now cover the limes generously with brown sugar.
Add the rum and let the fruits stand in a cool place for 2 to 3 hours.
Then pour ginger ale on top. Just before serving, add the sparkling wine and ice cream.
Non-alcoholic sparkling wine is recommended in summer.
