Instructions

  1. Put the flour in a bowl, make a depression in the middle and sprinkle the salt on the edge. The yeast is then crumbled into the hollow and the yeast is stirred with a little sugar and a little milk until smooth. The whole thing is left to stand for about 1/2 hour until the yeast has visibly gone.
  2. Then add the remaining sugar, eggs, melted margarine and enough milk so that it doesn`t become too runny and beat the whole thing well (O -ton grandma). The dough is then left to rise covered for about 1 hour.
  3. Then roll out the dough about 3 cm thick and cut out circles with a large glass. This in turn is left covered for a moment on the baking board. Meanwhile, heat the fat in a saucepan (tip: if you throw in a piece of onion and it turns brown, the fat is hot enough). On the low heat setting, add the cake in portions to the fat.
  4. Note: Do not let it get too dark! Turn them once in the fat until they are the right color and then let them drain. Now just roll the cake in the vanilla sugar-sugar mixture and you`re done!
