Instructions

  1. Clean the cauliflower, cut into florets and cook in salted water until al dente. Peel the onion and cut into small cubes. Also cut the meat sausage into cubes and lightly fry with the onion in a pan.
  2. Grease a baking dish. First pour in the mashed potatoes, add the seared sausage and finally layer the cauliflower.
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the flour. Stir well with a whisk. Then deglaze the cauliflower with the milk and the cooking water, always stirring well, otherwise there will be lumps! Bring the sauce to the boil briefly and always stir it, it must be creamy. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg (tip: if you want, you can add some grated cheese to the sauce). Pour the sauce over the cauliflower and sprinkle with some grated cheese.
  4. Bake the casserole in a preheated oven at 160 ° C for approx. 35 minutes until golden.
  5. Tip: You can of course substitute the vegetables and sausage as you like.
