Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes, also boil the cauliflower in lightly salted water and tear into small florets in a bowl or, depending on your taste, mash with a fork. Press the potatoes directly onto the cauliflower with the potato press or mash them with a fork in a separate bowl and then add. Add the flour, egg (if small, add 2 eggs) and a good pinch of salt and stir well, season to taste and add salt to taste and season with pepper and nutmeg. Now let the mixture cool down a little (approx. 15 minutes).
  2. Then turn in breadcrumbs in portions and fry in a pan in unflavored oil. Since the mass is usually still quite soft, I always add heaping tablespoons of it to a deep plate filled with breadcrumbs, spoon generously with a teaspoon of breadcrumbs from the edge of the mass and then shape them roughly and thickly with my hands - flatten them they also in the pan when baking.
  3. The patties / medallions go wonderfully with colorful salads in summer. Makes about 8 pieces.
